Course Aims

To consider personal safety and security
To provide the learner with skills and strategies for minimising any potential risks
To identify and assess potential threats to an individuals safety in a range of circumstances applicable to work or social environments
To reflect on previous experiences and share best practice

Who should attend

This qualification encourages the development of generic skills increasingly relevant to the need to improve and promote life skills. It can be contextualised to meet any element of health and safety requirements for a wide range of employment sectors community safety, security retail and care. It also meets the needs of those who may be vulnerable in the workplace, college or schools as well as social and everyday life situations.

The programme would be valuable for the 14–19 year old learner in preparing them for University or the workplace.

Course Content

  • Principles of Crime Reduction
  • Product knowledge and BS standards locks, doors, windows, fencing alarms and CCTV
  • Principles of conducting a Domestic Site Survey
  • Complete a Domestic Site Survey
  • Production of Domestic Site Survey report

Qualification

ASET Level 2 vocational qualification

Assessment

The completion of Domestic Site Survey and associated reporting.
