Course Aims
Consideration of personal safety and security is very much in the news in view
of heightened terrorist threats, conflict with neighbours, spiking of drinks in clubs etc.
It is important that people think about how they should react in different circumstances before they are placed in potentially threatening situations. Reducing risks to personal safety and security can usually be addressed by taking a few sensible precautions.
The ASET Level 2 Certificate in Developing Personal Safety and Security skills is a programme which enables learners to identify and assess potential threats to an individual’s safety in a range of circumstances applicable to work or social environments. The programme provides the learner with skills and strategies for minimising any potential risks and encouraging them to reflect on previous experiences and share best practice.
It is envisaged that this qualification could be delivered in schools and college
environments or by distance/blended learning programmes.
